CP Bulldogs 16U - Scott Skill Combine

The CP Bulldogs 16U - Scott participated in a Team Skill Combine. All of the players have received a player profile that will include: combine numbers, advanced metrics, and highlight videos. The CP Bulldogs organization have 7 players committed to Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU). On the 18U team, Jenny Kucharski, 3B/1B/2020 and Katie Kucharski, 3B/1B/2020, from Wilmette HS will continue their academic and athletic careers at SVSU. For the 16U team, Morgan Scott, Darcy Barkaukas, Bella Lee, Gianna Fantin, and Emma Smiser will be continuing their academic and athletic careers at SVSU.

Here are the player reports:

Emma Smiser, OF/UTIL, SVSU commit, Smiser put up the best home to first time at 2.89. She is a quick twitch athlete with wiry strength. She showed solid outfield actions throwing to her target with accuracy. Her speed and athleticisms will keep her in centerfield. Emma maintains a short, compact swing with strength in her barrel. Emma continues to impress and possesses room for growth.

Avery Robinson, SS/UTIL, shows projectable frame and moves well. She has good infield actions with the ability and feel for all throws and enough arm to stay on the left side of the infield. In the box, she maintains a solid hitting rhythm and loads her hands back to a good launch position.

Darcy Barkaukas, OF/UTIL, SVSU commit, Barkaukas has an athletic build with good strength. She showed top arm strength from the outfield. Her throwing footwork is efficient and carries natural actions for the position. At the plate, she stays in her legs with a solid combination of strength and bat speed.

Priscilla Seniw, C/OF, Seniw maintains the athleticism to play multiple positions, she profiles best behind the plate. She receives well with soft hands and instincts for the catching position. Seniw shows a balanced approach and ability to hit to all fields.

Carly Basham, OF/UTIL, Basham displays solid arm strength and actions for the outfield positions. She showed accuracy to her target. In the box, she displays a quite swing and hit line drives to all fields.

Gianna Fantin, 3B/SS/C, SVSU commit, Fantin displays confident and capable infield actions. She employed a quick exchange and hit her target with velocity. She maintains first step quickness, showing agility in his lateral movement and playing balls with urgency. At the plate, she is aggressive with good separation. She has good feel for the barrel and has a solid combination of bat speed and strength which leads to quality contact.

Bella Lee, C/OF, SVSU commit, Lee is a solid athlete, she showed well at all three spots, infield, outfield and behind the plate. Behind the plate, she relies on a quick exchange and accuracy (1.94 pop time). She sets up at the plate with good balance. Her swing gets on plane and shows a quality approach.

MaCayla Boone, 1B/P, Athletic, Boone is physical, long levered with present strength. She displayed athleticism at first ranging to her glove and backhand sides.Boonedisplayed instincts for the position, stretching and picking balls in the dirt. At the plate, she has a simple approach at the plate and consistently made hard contact. She possesses power and good bat speed.

In the circle, Boone showed control of a 3-pitch mix. Her fastball ranged 54-56, while her changeup was, 46-48. Her curveball and screwball showed good spin and sat around 52-53.

Morgan Scott, 2B/SS, SVSU commit, A solid athlete, she showed well at all three infield spots and in the outfield. She showed well in the infield but is very versatility. Taking groundballs Scott displayed comfortable actions with easy rhythm. The actions and arm showed the ability for her to play all three spots. She has a simple load with a line drive approach. She showed power to all fields and hit a few home runs in the hitting portion.

Katie Hansen, INF/OF, Katie is an athlete with the ability to play in the outfield and infield, with plenty of room to grow. She has a solid feel for rhythm and footwork on balls to his right and left as well as slow rollers. At the plate, Katie maintains a balanced setup and a rhythmic load. She uses a line drive, middle of the field approach and creates consistent quality contact.

Mia Sosa, P/2B, Sosa is still developing as a player and shows projectability. In the field, she gives best effort, play in and play out, with capable infield actions. Sosa possesses a timing rhythm that provides consistent quality contact. Her swing lends to projectable power with growth.

Sosa demonstrated good zone feel with a 4-pitch mix. Her fastball and changeup featured a good change in speed to keep hitters off balance. Her screwball and curveball had good spin and depth through the zone.

Skyler Katschke, P/1B, Skyler is a coordinated, and gets into a good fielding position. She displayed instincts for the position, stretching and picking balls in the dirt. Skyler showed the ability to throw from different angles across the diamond, doing so accurately. At the plate, she minimizes hand movement, and produces a quick, compact swing. She made consistent hard contact to all fields.

Katschke is a projectable right-hander who showcased 4 pitches. Her fast sat between 51-53. Her curveball and screwball showed good spin and movement. She displays pitchability and maturity as well as strength increases will likely provide velocity improvement.
