IHSAA 4A Road to the State Final

IHSAA 4A State Playoff Update

Lake Central and Decatur Central will battle for the 4A state championship this weekend. The game will be played June 9 at Bittinger Stadium, Purdue University with a 7:30 start time.

Here is the Lake Central Indians and the Decatur Central Hawks path to the state finals.

Lake Central played in the Crown Point sectional. The Indians played Lowell in first round of sectional play winning 3-2. They played Kankakee Valley next and won 3-2. In the sectional championship game, Lake Central beat Crown Point 4-2.

In the regional championship, Lake Central played Chesterton and won 2-1.

The Indians headed to the semi-state semifinals and defeated Penn 2-0. Lake Central would advance to the semi-state championship against Noblesville winning 4-3 and advance to the state final.

Decatur Central started their run in the Pike sectional. They first played Ben Davis and won 2-0. The Hawks would then play Roncalli winning 8-3. In the sectional championship, Decatur Central defeated Perry Meridian 4-0.

The Hawks took on Avon in the regional championship and won 7-4.

In the semi-state semifinals, Decatur Central defeated Cathedral 10-0. The Hawks then played Center Grove in the semi-state final winning 4-2 and advancing to the state final.
