Pioneer wins the IHSAA 1A State Championship

IHSAA 1A State Final

The Pioneer Panthers took on the North Central Thunderbirds for the IHSAA 1A state championship this morning.

In the top of the first inning, the Panthers got on the board with a two run home run from Alyssa Shaw. In the bottom half, Hannah Shroyer cut the lead to one with a base hit.

Pioneer would put together a big inning scoring 5 runs on 5 hits and taking advantage of 2 errors.

In the fourth, North Central broke up the no-hitter. As the inning unfolded, the T-Birds had the bases loaded but could not produce a run.

The Panthers would add 3 more run in the sixth inning to expand their lead to 10-1.

Pioneer would close out the final inning to become the 1A State Champion. Congratulations to both teams on a terrific season.
