Rock Island wins the IHSA 4A State Championship

IHSA 4A State Final

The Plainfield North Tigers and the Rock Island Rocks competed today in the 4A state championship game.

The first run of the game was not scored until the fourth inning as Rock Island got on the board. Back-to-back singles from Kelley and Michaels started the inning. Kelley would later score to make the score 1-0.

In the sixth inning, Rock Island added another run. Stegall gave the Rocks a two run lead with a home run to left.

Plainfield North was down to their final at bats. The seventh inning started for the Tigers with a home run from Callow. The Tigers would threaten with the bases loaded, but Rock Island was able to get out of the jam to end the inning and take a 2-1 victory and become the 4A state champion.
