14u Chicago 'A' Metro Championship - Nationals (Malito) vs. Blue Wave (Hull)

Yesterday, July 8 the Nationals - Malito 14u played Blue Wave – Hull 14u in the Chicago Metro ‘A’ Championship game. The Nationals were a perfect 7-0 on the weekend, going into the final game. Blue Wave - Hull were 6-2 entering the championship game.

In the first, Blue Wave was able to score one run in the inning. Three singles from Nicole Mucha, Bella Wilkerson, and Loren Carter led to the games first run. The Nationals were able to respond with two runs in the bottom half.

In the bottom of the second, the Nationals would score five runs in the inning. Hailey Malito and Maddie Pomykalski, hit back-to-back 2 RBI doubles, to highlight the inning. Jordan McCully would follow with an RBI single making the score 7-1.

Blue Wave was not able to manufacture any runs against the National’s pitcher, Lyndsey Grein. Grein allowed 8 hits but was able to limit Blue Wave to 1 run over 4 innings. Lyndsey Grein allowed 0 earned runs, 1 walk and struck out 2.

In the third, the Nationals increased their lead to 10-1. Lexi Castañeda led the inning off with a single. She would come in to score on a Hailey Malito double. Maddie Pomykalski would follow with a single to right scoring Malito.

The game would end in the fourth, as the Nationals would score 3 more runs. Katelyn Parrish led off with a single and Mya Moser would also single. RBI singles from Aidee Cavillo and Jordan McCully would give the Nationals a 13-1 win.
